The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, popularly known as WIC, is a nutrition program for pregnant, breastfeeding women and families with children younger than 5.
They come to Fredericksburg once a week at the Heart of the Hills Center.
The Fredericksburg Food Pantry, a not-for-profit organization serving Gillespie County families and individuals, is seeking volunteers to assist in the distribution of food to the area's less fortunate. Last year, the Pantry served 3,566 families by providing supplemental food to help ensure adequate nutrition for those families' children, adults, and aged.
Open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 1 pm-5 pm, for Gillespie County residents only.

The Golden Hub is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3, charitable organization serving the needs of the citizens of Gillespie County. Donations to the organization are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. The Golden Hub is incorporated under the official name of the Gillespie County Committee on Aging.
